To make it fun!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Grimaces birthday (1995) commercial\" width=\"1240\" height=\"930\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/U-GmIVIBPLI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These lyrics, of course, are from the 1995 \u201cGrimace\u2019s Birthday\u201d commercial. One of my longtime advertising buddies Rich Seidelman worked on the spot while at Leo Burnett and actor Terry Castillo-Faass starred as the loveable Grimace. (Check out Seidelman\u2019s fantastic and vast collection of McDonaldland photos on the Facebook page <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/FilmingInMcDonaldland\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Filming In McDonaldland<\/a>.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But I digress! 28 years after this commercial aired, Grimace is finally getting a proper McDonald\u2019s b-day celebration complete with his very own special-edition meal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-the-grimace-birthday-meal\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Grimace Birthday Meal!<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/popicon.life\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/McDonalds_Grimace_Birthday_Meal___Shake_Hero_Image.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-19336\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Starting June 12, McDonald\u2019s fans can order the Grimace Birthday Meal. Choose between a Big Mac or 10-piece Chicken McNuggets along with McDonald\u2019s World Famous Fries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wash it down with a limited-edition purple shake inspired by Grimace\u2019s signature hue. Fun fact about Grimace: when he was first introduced in 1971, he stole shakes and drinks. His early character designs even included an extra set of arms to make sure he could snag as many beverages as possible. Is the purple shake a homage to Grimace\u2019s favorite color or an Easter egg nod to his origin story? The world may never know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-celebrating-grimace-s-birthday-month\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Celebrating Grimace\u2019s Birthday Month!<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CtJwUu8twj3\/\">https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CtJwUu8twj3\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Aside from a delicious birthday meal, there will be even more opportunities to celebrate Grimace\u2019s birthday month throughout June. Here are just a few where you can join in on the fun:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Time to play!<\/strong> McDonald\u2019s is launching an exclusive video game in collaboration with Krool Toys. In the game, you get to join in the quest to help Grimace cut his birthday cake alongside other McDonaldland characters like Birdie the Early Bird and the Hamburglar. More details are coming soon on the <a href=\"https:\/\/grimacesbirthday.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Grimace\u2019s Birthday<\/a> website.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Dress up for the birthday character!<\/strong> Starting June 12, Grimace merch will be on sale at <a href=\"https:\/\/goldenarchesunlimited.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GoldenArchesUnlimited.com<\/a> while supplies last.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Give the gift of a donation!<\/strong> The <a href=\"https:\/\/rmhc.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC)<\/a> are a charity near and dear to Grimace. From June 13 through June 14, McDonald\u2019s fans are encouraged to visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/mcdonalds\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">McDonald\u2019s Instagram<\/a> story and share a picture of their favorite birthday memory via the \u201cadd yours\u201d sticker. McDonald\u2019s will donate $5 to RMHC up to $200K for every picture shared.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Happy birthday month, Grimace! We\u2019d nominate you for our Madison Avenue Walk of Fame, but you already won a spot there last year.
