From costume contests to ghoulish graveyards, we\u2019re looking back at seven of our favorite commercials featuring the sometimes spooky, always a bit silly antics of characters on All Hallow\u2019s Eve. Join us\u2026 if you dare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-halloween-cookies-pillsbury\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u201cHalloween Cookies\u201d | Pillsbury<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Pillsbury  - Halloween Cookies Commercial  - My Heart to Yours (2000)\" width=\"1240\" height=\"930\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/qdQi6wESxuw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Is there anything cuter than the Pillsbury Doughboy on Halloween? (Cuter than cute: he\u2019s a-dough-able.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Poppin\u2019 Fresh is ready to sneak a scare on the family in his ghost costume but bumps up against a jack-o\u2019-lantern. Next to the pumpkin is a treat that\u2019s even better than candy: it\u2019s a plate of Pillsbury Ready to Bake cookies. The Doughboy gets so distracted by the cookies that the kids wind up spooking him by the end of the spot!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-count-steve-pizza-hut\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u201cCount Steve\u201d | Pizza Hut<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"90&amp;apos;s Pizza Hut Halloween Commercial\" width=\"1240\" height=\"930\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/NZ2z3R5VJGM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fans of <em>Saturday Night Live\u2019s<\/em> \u201cThe Mr. Bill Show\u201d sketch will immediately get the reference in Pizza Hut\u2019s \u201cThe Pizza Head Show\u201d commercials. Happy-go-lucky <a href=\"https:\/\/popicon.life\/gimme-za-wacky-world-pizza-mascots\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">pizza slice Pizza Head<\/a> is terrorized by a pizza cutter named Steve. Meanwhile, the Pizza Hut narrator doesn\u2019t seem to catch on that perhaps they\u2019re the one guiding Pizza Head into all these accidental, wacky dilemmas. Hmm\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In \u201cCount Steve,\u201d Pizza Head is dressed up as a pirate and just finished a night of trick-or-treating. He\u2019s ready to wrap up the night with a stuffed crust pizza from Pizza Hut. Yay!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wait! The narrator points out that there\u2019s one more place left to visit: a dark castle conveniently surrounded by thunder and lightning. Pizza Head is shocked to see so many likenesses of his nemesis Steve throughout the house \u2014 in a sarcophagus! a painting on the wall! \u2014 and dashes upstairs in an attempt to flee the property. Count Steve greets Pizza Head at the top of the stairs before turning into a bat and flying away with Pizza Head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As Pizza Head shrieks to be put down, the narrator simply says, \u201cSee you next time!\u201d You mean there\u2019s another Halloween like this in store for Pizza Head?! Buckle up, buddy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-violin-m-amp-m-s\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u201cViolin\u201d | M&amp;M\u2019S<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"M&amp;M&amp;apos;s - Halloween - Violin (2016, UK)\" width=\"1240\" height=\"698\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/rVETCF8ajBY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s almost impossible to pick just one M&amp;M\u2019S Halloween commercial because Red and Yellow have a history of hilarious spots together. They\u2019re gone trick or treating, accidentally turned into ghosts, and even had an <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/fVGxCqrQjLU\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">encounter with the Headless Horseman<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All pale in comparison to 2016\u2019s \u201cViolin\u201d that acts as a gleefully good send-up to <em>Psycho<\/em>. Watch, laugh, eat M&amp;M\u2019S, repeat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-mad-scientwists-kool-aid\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u201cMad Scientwists\u201d | Kool-Aid<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"KOOL AID &quot;Mad Scientwists&quot; - 2000&amp;apos;s COMMERCIAL\" width=\"1240\" height=\"698\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OmrDz8IXyzg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s the <a href=\"https:\/\/popicon.life\/putting-the-kool-back-in-kool-aid\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Kool-Aid Man<\/a> like you\u2019ve never seen him before: turning into Dr. Jeryll and Mr. Hyde!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In just a few sips, a new drink brings out the greener, ghoulish side of the Kool-Aid Man. Is he a mad scientist or is there is a mad scientwist? Think attics, basements, broom closets with a single lightbulb to light the way\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The fearless GEICO Gecko thinks half the fun of a new house is seeing what the previous owner left behind. A quick visit to a creaky, dimly lit attic comes complete with a creepy music box and a table full of posed mannequins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Time to go? Yep! Let\u2019s nope out of this situation\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-you-don-t-want-to-be-chicken-on-halloween-mcdonald-s\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u201cYou Don\u2019t Want to be Chicken on Halloween\u201d | McDonald\u2019s<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"McDonald&amp;apos;s: You Don&amp;apos;t Want To Be Chicken On Halloween, Part 1 (1996)\" width=\"1240\" height=\"930\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jXXyxjfhP4k?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This McDonald\u2019s spot featuring the McDonaldland friends is one of the rare commercials featured in this roundup to include two parts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Part one shows <a href=\"https:\/\/popicon.life\/what-am-i-gonna-be-for-halloween-making-the-1995-mcdonalds-commercial\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ronald McDonald<\/a> dressed up as a superhero. He\u2019s surrounded by the McNugget Buddies and they\u2019re spooked by everything. Why? Because they\u2019re chicken!<\/p>\n\n\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"McDonald&amp;apos;s: You Don&amp;apos;t Want To Be Chicken On Halloween, Part 2 (1996)\" width=\"1240\" height=\"930\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/XZHPaaVC9L0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In part two of the spot, one of the kids \u2014 dressed up as a princess \u2014 points out that while Ronald has a costume for Halloween the McNugget Buddies don\u2019t have costumes. Ronald uses her magic wand to \u201cdress\u201d the McNugget Buddies in an assortment of fun costumes ranging from a spider to a dragon. One McNugget Buddy even gets a mini-Ronald McDonald costume!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-the-remaking-of-the-mash-a-monster-miracle\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Remaking of the Mash: A Monster Miracle<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/-KMKfH4gLq4\">https:\/\/youtu.be\/-KMKfH4gLq4<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How could I end this listicle without featuring the Monster Cereals together at last? Get ready to boogie with the world\u2019s most popular <a href=\"https:\/\/popicon.life\/monster-cereals-monster-mash\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">monster supergroup<\/a>! Franken Berry, Boo Berry, Count Chocula, Yummy Mummy, and Frute Brute reunited in 2021 for a behind-the-scenes look at how they made the biggest monster anthem of all time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Oh yes, and it was a graveyard smash.
