One of cereal\u2019s gr-r-reat(est) icons, Tony the Tiger of Frosted Flakes fame, is celebrating with a brand new Tony the Tiger capsule t-shirt collection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/popicon.life\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/tony_the_tiger_2019.png\" alt=\"tony_the_tiger_2019\" class=\"wp-image-10196\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The seven-shirt collection gives us a look back at <a href=\"https:\/\/popicon.life\/design-evolution-tony-tiger\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tony\u2019s design evolution<\/a> through the decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-tony-the-tiger-through-the-decades\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Tony The Tiger Through The Decades<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/popicon.life\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/tony_the_tiger_1950s.png\" alt=\"tony_the_tiger_1950s\" class=\"wp-image-10189\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One year after the introduction of Kellogg\u2019s Sugar Frosted Flakes, Tony the Tiger made his debut in 1952.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Believe it or not, Tony had to \u2018audition\u2019 for the role! Three other spokes-animals, including Katy the Kangaroo, Elmo the Elephant, and Newt the Gnu, were rotating characters on boxes of Sugar Frosted Flakes cereal. Tony, with his signature red kerchief and stripes, was an instant hit with breakfast fans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/popicon.life\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/tony_the_tiger_1960s.png\" alt=\"tony_the_tiger_1960s\" class=\"wp-image-10190\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Certain aspects of Tony\u2019s initial look were scrapped in later years. He initially walked on all fours, as most jungle cats do. Tony also had a head shaped like a football.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/popicon.life\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/tony_the_tiger_1970s.png\" alt=\"tony_the_tiger_1970s\" class=\"wp-image-10191\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His head would gradually assume a rounder shape. By the 1970s, he stood tall on two legs and had a lean build.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/popicon.life\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/tony_the_tiger_1980s.png\" alt=\"tony_the_tiger_1980s\" class=\"wp-image-10192\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One part of Tony\u2019s personality that never changed? His memorable catchphrase \u2014 <em>\u201cThey\u2019re GR-R-EAT!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/popicon.life\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/tony_the_tiger_1990s.png\" alt=\"tony_the_tiger_1990s\" class=\"wp-image-10193\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Voice actor <a href=\"https:\/\/popicon.life\/how-tony-the-tiger-commercials-are-filmed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Thurl Ravenscroft<\/a> was the talent behind Tony\u2019s vocals for 50 years.
