Curious, he peeked in the window to see a sweet world unfolding before his eyes. Chocolate was being made here, specifically chocolate confections from the Milka brand, and a marmot wrapped each bar in foil. Not surprisingly, nobody in the outside world could believe the hiker saw such a thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/popicon.life\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/MILKA1.jpeg\" alt=\"MILKA1\" class=\"wp-image-9965\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Twenty years later, Milka\u2019s famous marmot commercial has returned to French TV screens. The new campaign from ad agency Buzzman is for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.milka.fr\/patamilka\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Patamilka<\/a>, Milka\u2019s first chocolate spread.<\/p>\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/bYI1mxSFVqk\">https:\/\/youtu.be\/bYI1mxSFVqk<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-the-milka-marmot-returns\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Milka Marmot Returns!<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This time around, the hiker is a traveling marmot. The marmot gazes into the same cottage, seeing the cows, dog, and family making rich chocolate from twenty years ago. Who is helping spread Patamilka on a slice of bread? It\u2019s a little boy!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/popicon.life\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/MILKA3.jpeg\" alt=\"MILKA3\" class=\"wp-image-9964\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The marmot rushes to tell everyone (read: the other marmots) about what is happening inside the cottage. However, they do not believe him. Join the club with the human hiker, buddy.<\/p>\n\n\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Patamilka - La marmotte 1999 \/ 2019\" width=\"1240\" height=\"698\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/IlN6nnRnOQ4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-evolution-of-milka-s-20-year-old-commercial\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Evolution Of Milka\u2019s 20-Year-Old Commercial<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 2019 spot is recreated as closely, shot for shot, to the original 1999 commercial as possible Award-winning director Herv\u00e9 de Cr\u00e9cy joined Buzzman to direct the spot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cr\u00e9cy is also one of the directors behind the animated French film <em>Logorama<\/em>, which features appearances from brand mascots like the Michelin Man and Ronald McDonald. Mathematic, a studio that specializes in 3D animation, also worked alongside Cr\u00e9cy and Buzzman in recreating the original spot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/popicon.life\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/MILKA4.jpeg\" alt=\"MILKA4\" class=\"wp-image-9967\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-is-the-marmot-milka-s-brand-mascot\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Is The Marmot Milka\u2019s Brand Mascot?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While the marmot may be a familiar face with audiences, the character is not the Milka\u2019s brand\u2019s official mascot. That honor goes to the Milka Cow, which is spotted grazing in a field at the very end of the 1999 Milka marmot commercial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/popicon.life\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/milka_cow_1973.jpg\" alt=\"milka_cow_1973\" class=\"wp-image-9966\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the Milka website, the Milka Cow was created in 1972. By 1973, the character had become a prominent figure in the chocolate brand\u2019s advertising campaigns. The Milka Cow turned 25 in 1998, making the beloved bovine 45-years-old today.
