{"id":20357,"date":"2018-07-05T19:20:00","date_gmt":"2018-07-05T23:20:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/advertisingweek.com\/aw360\/?p=20357"},"modified":"2026-09-24T19:23:47","modified_gmt":"2026-09-24T23:23:47","slug":"chicken-fries-face-off-in-epic-burger-king-france-encounter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/advertisingweek.com\/aw360\/news\/chicken-fries-face-off-in-epic-burger-king-france-encounter\/20357\/","title":{"rendered":"Chicken, Fries Face Off in Epic Burger King France Encounter"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>By Heather Taylor<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The biggest blockbuster of the summer isn\u2019t part of the Marvel or <em>Jurassic Park<\/em> franchise. \u201cDeath Road,\u201d a new TV spot for Burger King France from agency Buzzman, is a heart-stopping, chest-pounding, apocalyptic thrill ride where a chicken and a cone of French fries finally come face to face for the ultimate fast food showdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/360.advertisingweek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/chicken_burger_king.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8505\" style=\"aspect-ratio:2.2857142857142856;width:960px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Set in a <em>Mad Max: Fury Road<\/em>-esque desert landscape, we meet Le Poulet \u201cThe Chicken\u201d and Les Frites \u201cThe Fries\u201d as they square off in a dual to the death. A crispy fried demise, in this case. The Chicken squawks a little before revving his engine, sunglasses on and fuzzy dice in the mirror.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/360.advertisingweek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/fries_burger_king.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8506\" style=\"aspect-ratio:2.2857142857142856;width:960px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Fries has ketchup and mustard bottles right next to his steering wheel, along with a salt shaker. As he revs up his engine, he dusts himself with the salt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"BURGER KING\u00ae - CHICKEN FRIES - DEATH ROAD\" width=\"1240\" height=\"698\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YvQr4XZsE-E?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The pair put the petal to the metal and collide into one another. When they wake up, they\u2019re in a medical tent and each wearing full body casts. (Somehow, that manages to work for The Fries.) A voiceover intones that we shouldn\u2019t expect anything good from a chicken and fries encounter \u2014 unless you\u2019re at Burger King. At Burger King France can you snack upon Chicken Fries, their chicken shaped like fries, but only until October 8<sup>th<\/sup>.
