Before March, and March Madness, wraps up let\u2019s review one of our favorite spokesperson switcheroos of the month. How did actress Zooey Deschanel fare filling the shoes of AT&T\u2019s Lily<\/a> as the iconic saleswoman\u2019s replacement?<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

Lily + Zooey<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In \u201cLily + Zooey\u201d from BBDO LA, AT&T\u2019s MVP Lily is searching for someone to cover her in-store shifts during March Madness. Within minutes, Lily\u2019s reviewing the resume of her fellow celeb doppelg\u00e4nger Zooey Deschanel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

Zooey, with her signature bangs and quirky charm, does look an awful lot like Lily. The pair can even simultaneously yodel together. But Lily is still seeking a candidate with phone experience \u2014 which is kind of a dealbreaker in the wireless industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Not to worry! Zooey presents Lily with a crochet knit design that says \u201c5G\u201d on it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s close enough for a stand-in. Lily hires Zooey on the spot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

Zooey Covers for Lily<\/strong><\/h2>\n

So, how did Zooey fare as Lily\u2019s stand-in spokeswoman replacement? In the follow-up spot, \u201cZooey Covers for Lily,\u201d Zooey introduces herself as \u201cLily\u201d to an in-store customer clad in the same ensemble Lily wears with a Lily name tag. She also lets the customer know that they can trade in their old Galaxy phone \u2014 any year, any condition \u2014 for a new Samsung Galaxy S22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

The customer, however, isn\u2019t quite sold on the offer yet. He wants to know where the real Lily is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, a TV screen in the background reveals the real Lily is enjoying her best life at March Madness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

Zooey \u2014 I mean, Lily \u2014 quickly turns the TV off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m the AT&T\u2019s \u2018Lily,\u2019\u201d Zooey insists, using quotation marks with her hands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat\u2019s a name tag,\u201d the customer deadpans before calling out \u201cLily!\u201d across the room in the hopes of finding the real Lily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
