Each has a starring role, or an extremely prominent cameo, in PopIcon\u2019s ranking of 2024\u2019s five best Christmas ads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/popicon.life\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/energizer_holiday2024.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While our initial thought was to make a best\/worst Christmas ads list starring brand mascots, it didn\u2019t feel true to the spirit of the holidays or the nature of advertising\u2019s most iconic characters. Instead, we decided to celebrate our favorite ads of the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/popicon.life\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/olipop_holiday2024.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among these spots you\u2019ll find new faces, familiar icons, and a few appearances from Kris Kringle himself, Santa Claus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>&ldquo;Meet OLI and POP&rdquo; | Olipop<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/popicon.life\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/olipop_holiday2024_2.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We were immediately smitten with Oli and Pop, the two yetis starring in probiotic soft drink <a href=\"https:\/\/drinkolipop.com\/\">Olipop\u2019s<\/a> first holiday campaign. But even though the audience loves them, it looks like the locals living in their village are a little scared of the pair. At first, anyway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Meet OLI and POP, our two lovable yetis on a mission to make the holidays a little brighter!\" width=\"1240\" height=\"698\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/HgPrWuo3d4Y?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Claymation spot from <a href=\"https:\/\/thisiscallen.com\/\">Callen<\/a> features Oli and Pop doing their best to spread holiday cheer, but the way they do it keeps getting misunderstood. Frustrated, the pair toss a big bag to the ground and stomp off to their cave. A villager discovers the bags is full of Olipop sodas and rallies everyone together. The yetis get a big surprise at their home when the villagers show up with cans of Olipop in hand, each dressed up like a yeti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now that we\u2019ve seen this commercial and enjoyed the warm fuzzies that came from it, we\u2019re hoping for seasonal spinoffs. Anyone up for a summer BBQ potluck at Oli and Pop\u2019s? They\u2019ve got plenty of Olipop stocked in the coolers to keep everyone cool!<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>&ldquo;Help Santa: Cinnamon Rolls&rdquo; | Pillsbury<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pillsbury.com\/\">Pillsbury\u2019s<\/a> own Pillsbury Doughboy has been having an excellent 2024. The General Mills mascot received a blue neckerchief, the first time any of his accessories have ever changed color, and has been actively speaking and giggling in new commercials airing year-round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Pillsbury Doughboy Christmas Commercial 2024\" width=\"1240\" height=\"698\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/9133p2e-B0I?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Poppin\u2019 Fresh is starring in two Christmas commercials this year, including a \u201cMemories\u201d spot that playfully reprises the iconic \u201cSanta Belly Boops.\u201d But we don\u2019t want anyone to miss out on watching the \u201cHelp Santa: Cinnamon Rolls\u201d commercial either.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ad opens during a family\u2019s Christmas Day breakfast. We hear the Doughboy huffing and puffing as he carries a cinnamon roll on his back across the coffee table. As the daughter helps place the cinnamon roll onto a plate, dad asks what\u2019s going on out of curiosity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/popicon.life\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/pillsbury_holiday2024.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe thought he might come back\u2026\u201d the daughter shyly starts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cFor cinnamon rolls!\u201d the Doughboy exclaims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/popicon.life\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/pillsbury_holiday2024_2.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHe\u201d is Santa, of course, who does show up as the commercial wraps. How cute is Pillsbury\u2019s new idea that Santa not only gets cookies after delivering gifts, but might even make a return visit for breakfast if you leave out freshly baked cinnamon rolls?<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>&ldquo;Holidays: Yeti&rdquo; | Michaels Stores<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/popicon.life\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/michaels_holiday2024.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We don\u2019t know too much about the Yeti that stars in the new holiday campaign from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.michaels.com\/\">Michaels Stores<\/a>, but he wants to set the record straight about something. He\u2019s so much more than \u201cabominable\u201d or a yeti. At his core, the Yeti is a crafter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Where can you watch these hard-to-find spots? We tracked them down on the Michaels TikTok. See the Yeti\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@michaelscraftstore\/video\/7433614757162175787\">holiday crafting skills<\/a> in action and catch a behind-the-scenes look of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@michaelscraftstore\/video\/7436848451486354734\">fully suited character<\/a> on set. He even got some free art supplies!<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>&ldquo;Hoppy Holidays&rdquo; | Energizer<\/strong><\/h2>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Energizer Hoppy Holidays\" width=\"1240\" height=\"698\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/DcogL3lY5L0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Move over, elves! <a href=\"https:\/\/energizer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Energizer\u2019s<\/a> own Energizer Bunny is hard at work in the North Pole for the brand\u2019s 2024 holiday campaign. He\u2019s performing a very important, very specific toy assembly line task: add batteries into all battery-operated toys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/popicon.life\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/energizer_holiday2024_2.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">EB is a natural and earns a fist bump from Santa for all his hard work. He even gets the chance to tag along with Santa in his sleigh, but not before giving him a pair of sunglasses. This duo is fully embodying the phrase \u201cslay the house down, boots\u201d on Christmas Eve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>&ldquo;The Gift of McDonald&rsquo;s&rdquo; | McDonald&rsquo;s UK<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We just have one question after watching the McDonald\u2019s UK \u201cThe Gift of McDonald\u2019s\u201d holiday ad. Where can we find those light-up outdoor decorations shaped like Grimace, the Hamburglar, and Birdie the Early Bird at?!<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Gift of McDonald&amp;apos;s\" width=\"1240\" height=\"698\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/LqRWfDbuOYg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this spot, a couple decides to go on a McDonald\u2019s run for dinner after spotting the ubiquitous yellow arches nearby. Getting to their McDonald\u2019s means heading through a neighborhood where the traditional candy cane lane has received a club remix. The lights are popping, the music is thumping to Benny Benassi\u2019s \u201cSatisfaction,\u201d and McDonaldland\u2019s biggest icons are encouraging them to keep going until they hit the drive thru.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Perhaps most impressive of all, a nearby skyscraper lights up in coordinated lights to match the Quarter Pounder.
