Reset, the Podcast: The Man Helping People Find Their Voice with Richard Swan, Founder and Director, London City Voices

Richard Swan, Founder and Director, London City Voices

This week I had the pleasure of talking to Richard Swan a man with many strings to his bow… Choir director, singalong leader, workshop facilitator, composer, arranger, bandleader and entrepreneur.

Richard is also Founder and Director of London City Voices, a leading community choir in central London where hundreds of business people turn up every week to sing together. Richard clearly has a passion for music and we talk about how we have turned his passion project into a business. Music, mindsets and motivation is at the heart of this conversation as we discuss Richard’s ambition to build a ‘tribe’ of people who come together to feel a part of something bigger than themselves.

Having loved music growing up and always promising to get back into singing, I ask Richard why I feel so daunted by the prospect of going back to it and as luck would have it, he was just the right person to ask… He talks to me about the book he is currently writing, “ Think you can’t sing, think again” and his personal passion for coaching confidence and creating an environment where people feel safe to sing, practice and play.

Now working with individuals, organisations and events, London City Voices is growing quickly and working hard to build momentum to its movement. Richard talks to me about how he looks after his own wellbeing in order to lead the choir to success and how continuous learning and development is key to hitting all the right notes in his personal and professional life.
