Reset, the Podcast: Zaid Al-Qassab – How I Have Lived with Depression and Anxiety for Over a Decade

Zaid Al-Qassab

Zaid Al-Qassab is the Chief Marketing Officer and Diversity and Inclusion Director of Channel 4, consistently in the MarketersPowerlistTop 100 former Chief Brand and Marketing Officer BT Group and one of our most respected marketers in the UK.

I have regularly interviewed Zaid over the years about the future of the marketing industry, but this is one of the bravest conversations we have had. Very few people who are as successful as Zaid are prepared to talk about their personal journey with depression and anxiety as well as be such a high profile leader

I learnt so much from this conversation and I know you will too, not just about Zaid’s life but how to thrive and grow through adversity and how to speak out about the things that you care about.

Zaid talks about his childhood, family and career and how they have shaped him and touches on why championing D&I initiatives and stopping discrimination in the workplace is so important. We discuss not only the societal stigma around mental health, but also the personal stigma Zaid has and is still working to overcome around mental health. He brilliantly shares real tips and insights that he uses to manage the struggles he still faces when it comes to his own mental health, wellbeing and performance.

Importantly, we discuss how Zaid has reset his life, and why he has now chosen to start speaking out about his challenges and the clarity and purpose he has found from doing so. The conversation is honest, raw and truly authentic. This is certainly not an episode to be missed.
