Pilot Parker Stars in a New Campaign Highlighting the Malaysia Airlines Travel Experience

By Heather Taylor, Editor-in-Chief, PopIcon
Do you remember your best flight? Maybe you can recall a moment or two when the crew went above and beyond to make your travels special. What was once just an ordinary flight has become an extraordinary memory.

The inspiration behind Malaysia Airlines latest campaign comes from a passenger. A young girl wrote a letter sharing a special memory of how she and her family met the airline’s beloved mascot Pilot Parker. A hand-drawn illustration of the mascot was also enclosed.
In “A Story Inspired by True Memorable Moments,” we see the travel experience told through Pilot Parker’s eyes. Let’s watch.
A Story Inspired by True Memorable Moments
The 80-second campaign shows audiences what they can expect on a Malaysia Airlines flight.

Small gestures of kindness and attentiveness are of paramount importance. As Pilot Parker makes his cabin rounds, he helps retrieve dropped wallets and checks in on passengers getting teary-eyed as they watch in-flight movies.
One passenger is of particular interest to Pilot Parker. A little girl who looks a bit uneasy. Whether it’s her first-ever flight or one where she just needs a bit of comforting, he gives her a Pilot Parker plush to cheer her up.

By the end of the flight, the little girl presents Pilot Parker with a letter of gratitude. She even included a drawing of him, returning full circle to the campaign’s initial inspiration.
Now that we’ve seen this campaign — and loved it! — we are ready for more heartwarming videos and more Pilot Parker.
