- G-Wiz has been the official mascot for the Washington Wizards since his introduction in 1997.
- The G-Wiz character is blue and wears a red wizard hat, red gloves with gold stars, sneakers which match his hat, and a jersey with the number 00.
- Guesses as to what the character is range from a flightless raven to a blue Christmas tree and Bigfoot disguised as a superhero.
- In 1997, the same year he made his debut, G-Wiz had a partner in G. Wiz — an additional genie mascot for the Washington Wizards. G. Wiz later retired in 2001.
- The Washington Wizards also had another character called G-Man act as one of their mascots. G-Man entertained alongside G-Wiz at Wizards home games and was known for being completely blue with muscles and high-flying dunks.
