Six Edible Mascots Are Coming To The 2025 Pop-Tarts Bowl — And The Fans Decide Which Team To Sacrifice

By Heather Taylor, Editor-in-Chief, PopIcon
Remember how groundbreaking it was for the 2024 Pop-Tarts Bowl to have not one, not two, but three edible mascots? Game day will reach next-level intensity at the 2025 Pop-Tarts Bowl. This year, six edible mascots are heading to the field, and the fans decide who joins those previously RIP’d pastries, Frosted Cinnamon Roll and Frosted Strawberry, in Mouth Heaven.

“The Biggest Sacrifice Ever”
Here’s what we know about the impending Pop-Tarts sacrifice. The six edible mascots will be divided into two teams — Team Sprinkles and Team Swirls — with three mascots on each team. Fans will get to vote via social media on the team they most want to see sacrificed.
Details about the Pop-Tart flavors that will be on each team have yet to be revealed. Nor is it clear if last year’s uneaten flavors, Frosted Wild Berry and Frosted Hot Fudge Sundae, will be returning. (It should be noted that Frosted Wild Berry would make a great member of Team Swirls while Frosted Hot Fudge Sundae could technically join either team.)
Who can we speculate might be on these teams? We have some guesses. (But please note, these tend not to be accurate 100% of the time.)
For Team Sprinkles, we’re hoping to see some of the classics make the team like Frosted Blueberry and Frosted Cherry. Team Swirls remains more of a mystery, but we feel like there’s room for newcomers like Frosted Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough.
And at the rate the Pop-Tarts are taking over, it’s highly likely there will be 10 or more edible mascots swarming One Citrus Bowl Place by 2026.
