The Raptor Trivia
- The Raptor is the official mascot for the Toronto Raptors. He has been their mascot for over 20 years.
- He is a red velociraptor who wears basketball shoes and a team jersey with the number 95 on it.
- One of The Raptor’s signature antics has been “eating” cheerleaders or dancers. For this skit to work, another Raptor costume — an inflatable one — must be used by the portrayer.
- During the 2013-2014 season, The Raptor was briefly replaced by another dinosaur mascot named Stripes after the portrayer injured his Achilles tendon. Stripes has been described as the “older cousin” to The Raptor and acted as mascot to the Toronto Raptors for six months.
